WasteNot™ Yarn

Watson Gloves is excited to announce the introduction of WasteNot™ yarn into select products. Due to increased awareness of the harm that plastic pollution produces, there is greater demand for ways to deal with plastic waste and WasteNot™ is their innovative way to be more sustainable.

They take recycled plastic water bottles and break it down into small pellets, which is then spun into yarn. This type of yarn material is what Watson calls WasteNot™. One whole 500mL bottle is used in 1 pair of seamless knit gloves and 2-3 plastic bottles are used in our fabric printed gloves!

It is certified by the Global Recycled Standard, which validates recycled fibre content claims and composition. RPET can be used in a variety of clothing, bags, runners, and now gloves. Many big players in the clothing industry have taken strides to make products through recyclable materials, and Watson Gloves is proud to be the first in the glove industry to bring recycled products into the market and we’re continually striving to push the envelope with our innovations and environmental efforts.
